Tammy D Little
Owner/Founder
Tammy, a native of Durham, NC, holds a BSBA, with a Concentration in Accounting, from Appalachian State University. She has over 25 years of experience in all aspects of business accounting. She initially worked in public accounting, where she gained a solid foundation in both tax and audit. Building on that experience, Tammy moved into corporate accounting, where she refined and developed her knowledge and skills. Serving as the Controller for several mid-sized and large companies for over a decade, Tammy developed an expertise in business structure, including not only accounting, but incorporating insurance, payroll, corporate tax, human resources, technology, and all other aspects of running a successful business.
In 2007, Tammy left the corporate world and started her first accounting firm, Turning Leaf Solutions. She was immediately busy with clients referred to her by tax accountants, with whom she had worked while in corporate positions. Because of the referral nature of her business, she and her team of associates were providing services to a very wide variety of companies in many industries. As the tremendous growth of her client base continued, she realized that it was important for her clients for her to specialize in a smaller number of industries to better serve all their needs. Although accounting methods are universal, the regulations, nuances, specific needs, and commitments for each industry are specific. Tammy decided that it was in the best interest of her clients and associates to sell Turning Leaf Solutions to a larger firm who had specialists in a multitude of industries.
Tammy is married with two wonderful daughters. In her spare time, she enjoys activities in the great outdoors and loves to hike with her husband Ross and their two dogs. She is also an active volunteer and puppy foster for a local animal rescue group, Best Friends Pet Adoption.
